OVERVIEW

Is That a Fact is a graphic organizer that prompts students to investigate the difference between a factual statement and an opinion-based statement.

IMPLEMENTING THIS ACTIVITY
  1. Enter in a variety of content specific facts and opinions in the template.
  2. Make and distribute enough copies for each of your students.
  3. Explain the directions and expectations of the activity.
  4. Discuss these graphic organizers. Be sure to emphasize the importance of distinguishing between fact and opinion.
  5. Address common student misconceptions and use these responses to inform your future instruction.
