This section includes a variety of strategies for successfully promoting collaboration in student work groups. Most employ some degree of inquiry.

Each of the approaches includes an overview along with ideas for implementation and assessment. There is additional information about applying the processes in different content areas suggestions for simplifying activity management, and selected references. Some files contain interactive templates that enable you to customize the tools for your own needs, preferences, and purposes.

Investigates cause and effect relationships.
Roundhouse Diagram
Illustrates cause and effect relationships between student's visual graphics and key concepts.
Silent Demo
Changes a traditional demonstration into one that requires students to carefully observe and interpret information.
Synectics
Promotes original and creative thinking.
Scientist's Notebook
Strengthens student learning through the application of metacognitive processes. Also supports an ongoing dialogue between teacher and student.
